This is our last goodbye...

You might have noticed it's been rather quiet in the Attic of late.  Well, we've been very busy with something BIG.  It's been a long time coming.  A dream for many years.  A move, to somewhere altogether quieter, greener, a little wilder, with space for growing children and perhaps some chickens, ducks maybe.  Maybe even a goat?  We'll see.  It is a very sad goodbye to this house we have loved and nurtured (and which has nurtured us in turn), renovated and knocked holes in walls and patched them up and built bits on and took off its hat and gave it a new shiny one.  I will miss it so, and there WILL be tears.  But, the time has come to follow that dream.  It's all rather scary at the moment, we want to rent in our new community to settle in and get to know it before we take the plunge and buy (or build), but rents are scarce, especially this time of the year (it's a popular spot in summer), so we actually haven't got anywhere to move IN to at the moment.  I'm trying to hold to the 'leap and the way will open' philosophy, which is very hard for me because I'm not naturally brave, and I like to be able to see the safety net before I even think about letting go.  But things will turn out, I will keep telling myself that, even if we do end up in a tent for a bit!  So here, probably for the last time, are some pics of our little house, looking tidier than it ever has before, all shined up and sparkling to entice potential new owners.  And as you can see from the first pic, it worked beautifully!

And, because a munchkin's bedroom just isn't the same without a munchkin in it, here they are, looking so terribly grown-up.  Mind you, their rooms never normally look this clean!

Transmission may be intermittent for a while, there is much packing and sorting and culling, and of course, stressing and pulling hair out and not getting enough sleep to come in the next few weeks, but I hope to be back blogging before Christmas.  Wish us luck!

I was JUST thinking about you this morning and thinking of writing as its been a long time since we've seen you here, and here you are with WONDERFUL news! Too bad you couldn't take your beautiful home with you! SO happy for you as I remember you speaking about this dream years ago. May you find the most beautiful home... I imagine its not yet for sale, but will be when you get where you are going :)

Easeful transitions to you all!!

Your home is beautiful. You have my empathy, we have just leapt, it was a terrifying jump and we lost some treasures along the way. We've landed at a halfway point for now, because we have the same dream as you ... somewhere quieter, wilder, where the air is fresh enough to breathe. But that is a very big step. Good luck with your move! I trust the universe will do good things for you.

The "Home" you're leaving was made so by the love you put into it. Your next "Home" will be filled to the brim with Love Luck and Happiness. this has been a year of change for so many, I wish you and your family the very best.Your "Make it work" attitude will do you well. Keep up with your beautiful Art work. Keep the faith.

You are right....somehow it will all work out.....but you have to believe..and i KNOW its hard..We went thru this about a year and a half ago....it got really hard to believe when we put offers on 30 houses and got beat out of every one.....but you have to keep the faith that this is what you were meant to do.. and then go for it with all your heart... Looking forward to hearing back from you! Hugs! deb

As someone with a lot of moves under her belt, I support your resilience to deal with the changes and a strong sense of adventure (both of which, it seems you already have :-) )

What a beautiful little house - I'd live there!

Hope you find something equally lovely (or at least full of potential).

Wendy

Oh! I want to buy it! What a home-maker you are (even allowing for false cleanliness). You will have beauty wherever you go. And may I remind you that you must not forget how to fly?

Oh my what exciting and scary & exciting news. I remember those feelings from when we left our old home down south and followed our dream (blind) to Scotland, with no idea what to expect, it turned out to be one of the best things I ever did. I hope your adventure will bring you all that you wish x x
