Becoming...but I'm not sure what yet

This is sitting on my family room table at the moment, amid my pencils and inks and a small sewing box...I've migrated downstairs because it's rather hot and crowded ( I did mention I'm a hoarder, didn't I?) upstairs in my attic.  It's me but not really me, my face from a photo but that's all, she's really someone else, I'm just not sure who yet.  Perhaps a hedgewitch, or a real greenwitch...though I don't think she'll be wearing the hat I made.  I'm thinking leaves and bits of old sticks in her hair...perhaps she collects the odd bits and bobs that messy humans leave behind, like bottle-tops and foil lolly wrappers, and weaves them into her hair.  Hmmm, will have to wait and see how she evolves and who she wants to be.

Wow...what a gorgeous drawing..I look forward to seeing how this progresses as you decide what to put in her hair...I've added you to my blogroll at the Ugly Rabbit...thanks for your lovely comments there.
All the best
April
Ps. I could do with some warmth...it's cold and damp here but thankfully no spiders!!!

Wonderful drawing... Such fine detail. I will look forward to seeing it completed. I like your idea of a hedgewitch. I will visit you again soon to see how she evolves.:)

Thank you! I'm not really a big fan of spiders either April! Though when the weather warms up we do sometimes get Huntsmen moving in...they're harmless but really BIG so a little unsettling! Joanne, your little card should be arriving soon! I think she may want to be a bush-witch...perhaps she tames the spiders?!

wonderful, cant wait to see where it leads! Do you find when you draw yourself that you dont ever recognise the person that appears on the paper? It intrigues me.

Ruthie, yes often! What I also find intriguing is when I draw a face that I think is completely out of my imagination, and other people will see me in it. I did a series a couple years ago based on the 4 elements (done as Goddess figure/archetypes) and I used the same base drawing for all of their faces, which was NOT at all based on me, and they all turned out totally different from each other (I thought), yet people still thought they ALL looked like me!

I get this too, folks say they see me in some of my work! maybe it comes from looking at our own reflection for so many years , it is burnt into the depths of our sub-conscious without us realising, for if someone asked me to draw myself from memory, i should be stumped! x
